After studying Economics, Sylvia started at Pieter van Huystee when she was 24. For Sylvia, everything has to be right. The figures, the feelings, the management... She runs the company together with Janneke with a load of experience, but above all: with soft power.

Hester Breunissen
Junior producer
Hester wants real, urgent stories to be told. She started as a production manager after studying Production at the Dutch Film Academy and then stuck with Doxy Fixy. One day we crossed out 'junior' for 'producer'.
Roderik Dekker
Post Producer
After an international childhood in which he lived with his family in countries such as Ghana and Botswana, Roderik landed a degree in production at the Netherlands Film Academy in Amsterdam. After that, he worked at post-production studio Storm and then for a few years at major international advertising agency DEPT®, where he set up the post-production department. That was fun, but eventually he came back to working on content films, where his heart lies. Roderik is building up the post-production department, now quite a specialist field. 'The best part of this work is that you end up remaking the film in post-production. If that process goes smoothly then it can really take a film like this to the next level.'
Janneke Doolaard

As a History student, Janneke often served film producers who had offices next to the café where she worked. That's how she rolled into Egmond Film as a helper. When she was soon allowed to do historical research for the film Nynke, she felt that magic. Her destiny had been sealed.

Filmmaker Hans Dortmans made a second documentary about an animal after his film Divine Pig. Hidden Dance of Eels, which premieres 23 June, shows the global search for the mysterious sex life of the eel while poetically tapping into an age-old existential question: how makeable is nature?

Historian Harmen Jalvingh discovered while studying in Groningen, that he was too much of a romantic for science. He would rather capture beautiful stories in film form than in the coldness of scientific figures and facts.

Joris Postema

Perhaps the philosophy of Anaïs Nin, "We don’t see the things as they are, we see them the way we are," is emblematic of all of Joris Postema's work? Joris is always conscious of the lens through which he films his stories. With that, his documentaries not only offer insight into the filmed subject matter, into other worlds like Rwanda, Congo, but also into his soul as a creator.

Noa Selles

Noa watched incredible series in adolescence and managed to turn her hobby into her job. While studying Media & Culture, she started making films with fellow students. She eventually learned about script development through a master's degree in dramaturgy. Favourite film? Close by Lukas Dhont.
Annemarie Siemons

As a child, Annemarie read non-stop. She went on to study Dutch and Communication Science and made other people's stories her profession. Now she lets film ideas grow and flourish like everything else in her secret Amsterdam garden.

Belga has a bachelor's degree in Art History and two masters: in Film History and Film Industry. Her dream? Filming fiction in Cuba, travelling the world and writing a book. Bueno, hay muchos sueños! (Dreams enough!)
Festus Toll
Director
Doxy produced Festus Toll's new short documentary The Story of Ne Kuko, premiering at IDFA and selected for the IDFA Competition for Short Documentary. Around 1878, a spiritual statue, a 'nkisi nkonde' was stolen from Congolese chief Ne Kuko by a Belgian army officer. The statue became one of the showpieces of the Africa Museum in Tervuren. Not only was the theft a great loss for Ne Kuko, it also disrupted his local community.

Nicole van Kilsdonk

FIXY is producing the new telefilm "Happy Palace" directed by Nicole van Kilsdonk, which will be broadcasted on NPO3 on February 8th, 2024. It serves as a cinematic monument to a disappearing phenomenon: the Chinese-Indonesian takeaway restaurant. After attending journalism school, Nicole van Kilsdonk made the transition to the Film Academy. Seeking more depth, she found it there as a director. We spoke with Nicole van Kilsdonk about the enchantment of a premiere in a dark cinema hall, the magic of the traveling circus during filming, and how each film teaches you new things.
